MUSICAL PLAYSCHOOL

To register your child in Musical Playschool, contact the teacher directly. Registration starts in early May, and you can register for one school year at a time. Pupils are also taken in after the term has started in the Fall and Spring. Contact the Musical Playschool teachers at the respective teaching locations directly to inquire about possible vacancies.

Check the “Current Events” page for up-to-date information about the start of registration, including the times when teachers will be on call for registration.

ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS FOR SPRING 2012: May 29 – 31th

Students for instrumental and vocal studies at the Basic Level Studies in Music are primarily chosen on the basis of an entrance examination held each spring in late May: exact dates will be made available on our webpages at page “oppilaaksi -hakeutuminen oppilaaksi” and in the Länsiväylä magazine (6.5.2012).

Please read the following instructions!

For the entrance examinations this Spring 2012, you will need to register in advance through our new ILMO registration site by providing the applicant’s personal and other information. However, we will not give the applicants their own individual entrance examination times. You will still have to check the entrance examination schedule for the instrument and department you will be applying for on our webpages or in the Länsiväylä magazine (6.5.2012) and come to examination at the scheduled time.

The advance registration link for the entrance examinations will open here on Monday 7.5.2012 and will be open until 20.5.2012.

Those applying for the Open Division do not need to take an entrance examination, but rather should come and fill out an application during the entrance examination period. However, if you are applying for solo voice lessons, you must audition before the voice jury at the entrance examinations.

In order to facilitate your choice of instrument, you can find detailed information on the instruments taught at our institute under “Soitinesittely” (Instrument demonstration) Please take time also to look at the Institute’s “Toimintakertomus” (Annual Report) for the previous year, which features a table on the entrance examinations held the previous year.
